Ten thousand pixel squared

Ten thousand pixels squared telling the history of male nude in sculpture and painting. It’s the huge project i am completing nowdays… This particular trip has four famous characters: San Sebastian, Icare, Hermes and Ganymede… It will surely be followed by other explorations through art history later… You can have a little walk with Hermes, Icare, Sebastian or Ganymede, scrolling your mouse on this high resolution visit of hundreds of paintings, sculptures and drawings with some of my artworks too (just 2 don’t worry…) A travelling all along almost 3000 years of male nudes! My job: translator…

Since it is just 5 months I began to paint, I earn money with a different skill: translation… I didn’t study translation either but I have a very good background in French Litterature and it had helped me a lot to give back translations with very good quality. If i want i can translate continuously and earn a lot of money but i want to paint also and improve my hungarian since i live in Hungary for more than 3 years now… I translated about ten texts from Hungarian only and hundreds of texts from English. Next week is a turning in my life: my first intensive course in Hungarian during three weeks.

I used to be a teacher since 2002 i am teaching all kind of public from 6 years old (an hungarian little boy who has problem to go on with French) to more than 65 years old (a czech woman in Prag who was very kind: to go on to learn a langage is a very clever initiative when one passes 60 years old)… From my 17, i have had tens different jobs: sweeping the city, journalist in a radio, manutentionary in a yogurt factory, cleaning and building libraries in some associations, computing in a geographics association, shop assistant in an exotic shop, helping in a secondary school library, teacher from secondary to high school, building houses, roof, wall, cleaning the dishes in a restaurant, bar tender, selling fluorescent collars on the beach during summer 14th of july… and translator.

I just watched with A. the movie of Peter Brook from the novel The Lord of the flies. It gave me the idea to call the painting I did today Lord of the rainbow. After this I don’t know if I should go on to call my blog “male nude paintings”?

Another gay game!

Today I visited the diary of Simonson and oh surprise he had finally written a new entry in his diary (that is the today link which brings you to his diary all over the time…) for this painting:

 

So I translate it in my French blog, to see the details of his work process which influences me since I descovered it… I give you also a set of more of 50 pictures that I collected during these past three weeks…

Touching up…

Here in Budapest the canicule is starting…. That means that I will have to change my life again in relation with the non-possibhle-to-do-anything-outside afternoons and this during about three months.

But fortunately I have many programs for the next three months: the 7th of july I will have two weeks of intensive courses in hungarian in the morning (like that no problem with the dog days), then the 23d of july we go with “the group” to a villa near Szeged; then the 4th of august my sister and her two children come to see Budapest and I go with them in France to Toulouse 5 days after and will stay 5 weeks in France… Then the 4th of september A. comes in Toulouse and we fly back to Budapest the 14th of september with my mother who will stay with us till the 24th of august…

Maybe because of the heat wave arrival, last night I was touching up 4 of my paintings during hours:

Venice

Finally I choosed one of the three montage photo of the game with a painting of Turner named Venice and a czech boy (a rather famous model) in the front… The face became completely different of the photograph. I am always surprise if I see that my painting is taking a personal aspect by its own whithout I wanted it… I ve just stoppd painting it when I liked the result the result…

I had some technical issue the last weeks with my IBM laptop which is out of order now : so yesterday i bought a netbook the Asus 1000 H which is really good for its price (300 euro)…

I ve just cancelled my account on the Yessy Gallery since nobody bought one of my paintings why should I pay 60 euro? You can find my artworks on SAATCHIwhich is free but more complicated to visit and therefore more complete too…

I realize that 1 paint a xeek is already difficult to do. I am uploading copyrighted pix in the Saatachi gallery and i don’t reach 20 paintings while at the end of june the half of the year will already be finished! So 50 paintings a year seems to be more realist than 3DAYS 1 PAINTING, EVEN IF i KNOW THAT i CAN PAINT BEAUTIFUL THINGS IN LESS THAN THREE DAYS…

 

Oh and i will signe every painting like that now?

 

I was busy with my American student who is fidel since 2006… I enjoy this course because I can see my english improving every day with him. Thank you G. His way of making the things simple are very interesting too: I would like to do like him and go to Brno in Czech Republic or in Greece to learn czech or greek (two language i already know a little) with some native in a private course a,d spend 5 days or one week in the country and meeting my native teacher two or 4 hours (in fact on monday we spent almost 9 hours together because I want to ear native english and we had some coffee and cigarets near MTV at the Liberty square then lunch in Kiado then he show me a bookstore where I bought a French / Hungarian dictionary…)
